![]() Not a big disadvantage, i say, because you can always set up some area-denial groups of bots, consisted primarily of 3 to 5 battle-bots (my personal choice is ftf with 4 rocket-launchers) and backed up with 2 (so they can heal each other) heal-bots.įor example, the best way to deal with turrets that are set up behind one of those doors that only open when a robot gets close is to take manual control of a MissileTurret robot, place 2 medics nearby so that they can do their job and heal. There's only one downside though: you'll become unaware of most of the battlefield. In most cases, one powerful enough bot under your control can easily wipe out the whole enemy squad pushing your base on defense, and turn down any hostile turret without even getting any damage on offense. Robots under your control will get nifty boosts to movement speed, weapons range, and total iq. Now there is the solution: Use The Manual Control. Putting all together, the strategy mode alone gives you very low chances to succede in pb. For many, it can be much more difficult for those who don't have the patience to constantly reboot battles. Supposedly this was for 'balance' purposes as 1.0 used to be extremely easy. Some bases/lesser bases give the AI a larger fount of income than it does for the player. The vanilla Space Rangers 2 maps such as Icecutting Inmates happen to be much more balanced, as they starve all of the active players of starting resources, and income seems to be just as "bad." This is also good for you, though, you don't have to deal with constant swarms of enemies giving you a headache! With others, the AI will start with an incredible zone control advantage, which means their income will be greater than yours and they can afford to lose their own bots. Abuse the restart function to give you the confrontation you desire.įor example, many of the maps added by the Rebooted patch or alongside A War Apart give you ridiculously unfair scenarios such as turrets stacked alongside each other on every ridge. You must be a really (i mean REALLY) great strategist (or just lucky) to win in those conditions. Not saying about totally inequal starting conditions you'll find in most of the maps. They might (and most probably will) have larger amount of resources at the start of the mission. ![]() In some maps, enemy ai has boost to the resource income from every base they control. ![]()
